Autumn ’23 – Bounce

After a LONG hiatus, I am finally back with a new playlist to inject some energy into these rapidly shortening days. These cloudy, rainy days lend themselves to melancholy energy and I am absolutely not here for it. To that end I’ve been curating this effervescent playlist to get myself through these morning commutes, and today I share it with you.

An eclectic mix of trap, house, garage, bounce, R&B and jazz, this autumnal playlist is sure to raise your energy levels and inspire a positive mood. With tracks from DJs including Sammy Virji, Conducta, Eliza Rose; R&B cult heroes like Bobby Caldwell and Marlena Shaw; and rappers from both sides of the pond, sit back and enjoy.

Keep an eye out for upcoming songs of the week and the resumption of the community playlist.

November Playlist

With this being the first playlist in nearly a year, I initially felt an urge to make a deluxe list of highlights from the year gone by. But then I remembered a key maxim we should all live our lives by, quality is better than quantity. And in that vein this playlist is composed of 20 carefully selected tracks, mostly released throughout the past year that left a real lasting impression on me.

A host of genres from rap and R&B to garage and jazz are included on this iteration, as well as tracks from artists cementing their status at the music industry’s pinnacle and lesser known artists that are putting themselves on the map with some incredible work.

Find the playlist below and enjoy a little peek into what’s been playing on loop in my head for the past 11 months!

December Playlist

With 2020 coming to a close, I’ve made a deluxe playlist to make up for the absence of a November playlist. The last two months have featured a wide variety of tracks that I’m glad to share with you all.

Spanning genres from pop to afro-fusion and math rock, the descent into what might be the most memorable winter in recent history has brought a huge range of new and old tracks to my attention. Key tracks this go around include alt rap hit “Trap Tears” by Raury, old school UK rap track “Honour Codes” by The Four Owls, piano-led jazz track “Almost Went Too Far” by Joe Armon-Jones and sucralose-sweet pop track “Chemicals” by SG Lewis.

Check it out below.
